Fire Inspector Courses
 
Fire Inspector I, II & Plans Examiner

Tuition: $750 (subject to change)

This includes online course access and TCFP state skills testing.

 

The TCFP Fire Inspector/Plans Examiner is a complete 196-hour course (Inspector I, II, & Plans Examiner) with all course work completed in an online classroom environment. This fire inspector training program covers all the necessary curriculum requirements of the TCFP and NFPA standards. This course also requires a one day face to face season held on the last day of the course to complete the course final exam and TCFP skills testing at our Fire Academy Training site in San Marcos, Texas.

 

This course is approved by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to take the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Fire Inspector/Plans Examiner certification exam. To Register for the class:

Submit a payment using the form below, then complete the Advanced Course Application and upload it using the enrollment file uploads link in the Downloads area on the right side of the page.

 

Important Information:

Registration ends 5 p.m. on the date specified for each class. Incomplete registration requirements and/or unpaid balance on tuition may result in the loss of the class seat to someone on a waiting list.

 

Students are required to provide their own textbook: Fire Inspection and Code Enforcement (8th ed.) (2016). Stillwater, OK: Fire Protection Publications. International Fire Service Training Association.

 

The face to face session will be held at the specified academy training location for TCFP skills testing and the course final exam. In most cases the testing location will be South Hays FD Station 11, 3528 Hunter Road, San Marcos, Texas. The length of the face to face session is dependent on class size and other testing factors, please plan to attend for eight hours.

 

Failing the course, or not attending the skills day or the final exam day will result in you having to pay the full tuition to attend the next available course. We no longer allow students to sit in on the next course or roll over to the next skills day as it had been allowed before. You must complete all coursework and skills associated to the course that you originally register for. If you are unable to attend any portion of the original course, you must contact Texas Fire Academy admissions to change the course.
